It's not anything to do with ms4w specifically, just that php 5.2.2 and 5.2.3 seem to have a broken libmysql.dll. It does not break mysql, but results in extremely slow performance in one of my websites (non-chameleon) that uses a Postgres connection (no mysql involved), and creates this error in the Apache error log (not php log) : Error in my_thread_global_end(): 1 threads didn't exit Chameleon websites run fine, however. I fixed it by downloading libmysql.dll from the MySQL website. MySQL still functions after changing the file. Other bug reports referring to this: http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=41568 http://forums.cacti.net/about21589.html It would be good if the libmysql.dll file in ms4w could be replaced.
oddly enough, i get this same error message using the shp2img command on certain WMS layers. ?

Note that bothe ms4w-2.2.5 (mapserv 4.10.3) and ms4w-2.2.6 were updated on August 24th AM and contain the libmysql.dll coming from ms4w-2.2.2
ms4w-2.2.6 also contains an old libmysql.dll (the new php-5.2.4 release did not seem to fix this issue). If you ever have any news on this libmysql.dll issue please report it here.
ms4w-2.2.7 will also contain an old libmysql.dll (the new php-5.2.5 release did not seem to fix this issue). If you ever have any news on this libmysql.dll issue please report it here.
I was getting slow page loads using CGI With MS4W 2.2.8 while connecting to Postgre and Sql Server 2008. After replacing the libmysql.dll from MS4W 2.2.7 it worked as expected.
ok thanks for testing Chad. This calls for an immediate 2.2.9 release, which I will do in the morning.
ms4w-2.2.9 is now available which contains an old libmysql.dll
I haven't seen this issue pop up in a while (good). Please re-test with the MS4W 3.0 release and re-open this ticket if it comes back. Thanks. Jeff
